About PSNA

Porter Square Neighbors Association is open to residents and business owners in Cambridge and Somerville who care about improving the quality of life in Porter Square and surrounding neighborhoods.

Monthly Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month (except August and December) from 7 pm to 9 pm, normally in Room 2-078 on the second floor of the Lesley University Hall at 1815 Massachusetts Avenue, with an option to join by Zoom.  See our Meeting Minutes to get an idea of who comes to present to us and what topics we discuss.

Email Discussion Group (aka ListServ) is how we keep ourselves informed of developments in the area, upcoming meeting presenters and other topics relating to the quality of life in Porter Square and surrounding neighborhoods.

Annual Social Gathering of Sustaining Members - Generally held in August, this event is purely social.

Bi-Annual Forum of Candidates for City Council - Held in October of Election Years, we invite every candidate for City Council to appear on one of several panels to answer a few questions before an audience of mostly PSNA members and specifically to tell us what they want to do to if elected to improve the quality of life in Porter Square and surrounding areas.

Beautification Projects - PSNA members set up various planters every Spring and co-ordinate a Clean-up Day with Harvard Students every Fall, and we have worked with the City on signage, sidewalk design and other beautification projects.

Shop & Eat map - This popular hand-out hasn't been updated since the pandemic and needs a champion.  Can it become a dynamic website map so it is never out of date?  Can it be printable and/or down-loadable?  Can it have a search function?

Those wishing to help out in any capacity are invited to let us know using the adjacent Contact PSNA form.  We are all volunteers; the more of us there are the more good we can do for the community.  Even an hour now and then makes a big difference.

Those wishing to support us as Sustaining Members in invited to pay the $10 calendar-year dues at any meeting or mail a check made out to PSNA to P.O. Box 400106, Cambridge, MA 02140.  Thank you!

If you find yourself attending most of the meetings, learning and thinking about the issues, meeting the relevant players and caring about perpetuating this dynamic neighborhood, you might want to get even more involved.
