AIB Construction

Bill Doncaster reported that work on the AIB construction is about to begin. If you haven't noticed, the windows on the church are gone and boarded up in preparation for the epic journey to the other side of the lot. Most of the contents of the church are gone, including the organ, which now resides in a small church near Paris, Texas. Serious site prep will begin in April, and the church should be on its new foundation sometime in August. A closed, but not completed structure, should be in place by April 2014, and the building should be ready for use sometime in 2015. To get better details about the construction timeline and mitigation measures, you are invited to attend the public meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 6:30 in the Amphitheater, 2nd floor, University Hall. City Council Race

Kristin von Hoffman, a candidate for city council, introduced herself. She is conducting a listening tour to prepare for her run and asked about issues of particular concern in the area. We encouraged her to send a message to this list to introduce herself with the proviso that any subsequent conversations take place off-list.

Spring Cleanup

Ruth Ryals and Susan Hunziker agreed that PSNA and the Ward 10 committee should organize another spring cleanup, to be held sometime in April or May. Stay tuned. As part of this discussion, they lamented (again) that we cannot unleash the neighborhood to address the eternal eyesore: the carpet of trash along the commuter rail. IF ANYONE FROM THE MBTA IS LISTENING, WE WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH YOU TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. We'll work for free!!

Cultural Event

Following the success of his adaptation of "The Friends of Eddie Coyle," Bill Doncaster is producing another play in a bar. "Bouncers" is about a bar, and by the end of the second act, four guys in tuxedos will bring every single person who turns up at the door to life. Should be a gas. The play will run every Friday and Saturday night in April at the Cantab lounge. Seating is limited, so get your tickets soon. http://stickballproductions.com/
