 PSNA Meeting on TREES!

 Thursday, Oct 18, 7-9 pm

 Lesley University Hall

 1815 Mass Ave, Rm 2-078

Porter Square has been identified as one of the city’s heat islands.  Mass Ave—a main thoroughfare for cars, buses, bikes, and pedestrians—is an increasingly hot corridor.  Street trees help reduce that heat! Many of us share the vision of a shady Mass Ave and are interested in doing what we can to improve our tree canopy and our planet.

November 2022

Thursday, November 17, 2022 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

November 17, 2022

This was our first meeting in person in two years. Lesley has installed in its classrooms the equipment that allows you to use Zoom, and this was our first attempt at using it. Alas, attendance was very low, but a couple of people dialed in and we were able to confirm that we can use the equipment properly and that people who are not physically present can still hear and participate.

PSNA Meeting, September 20, 2022

Concerns about the impact of the population that is using drugs in and around the T station on the community have been growing. Encounters with folks who are in various stages of the experience and the abundance of discarded needles (a biohazard) are not what anyone wants to experience while they are in the neighborhood. These conditions also work against our efforts to program and animate the very small patches of public space in Porter Square, two of which are MBTA property.
