Tell the Governor to sign the Police Reform Bill, returned to him by legislators!
Submitted by ruth on Sat, 12/19/2020 - 7:43pmLast week, instead of listening to the broad and diverse coalition calling on him to sign meaningful law enforcement reform into law, Governor Baker buckled to the pressure of police unions and sent the bill back to the Legislature with amendments.

This is the second, cleaned up, Policy Order:
WHEREAS:
Thistle and Shamrock temporarily closed (COVID), should open next week
Submitted by ruth on Sat, 12/05/2020 - 8:08pmThistle & Shamrock Update. This was just posted on the store’s Facebook account. Update: as of Saturday morning, 1 other employee has tested positive for covid. This does not come as a surprise considering I live with the first employee that is positive, my wife. All other employees have tested negative, which is a very strong indication that we come in contact with the virus through our children (they are also positive, 2 and 4 years old), who got it at one of their respective schools.
Brrr....Too cold for our "Stand Out" at Porter Square, Sunday Dec 6th!
Submitted by ruth on Sat, 12/05/2020 - 3:31pmArbitrarily, I am suggesting that folks not "Stand Out Against Racism" at Porter Square if it is less than 40 degrees, or raining/snowing.
After all, we don't want to put folks in danger of getting sick, with COVID waiting in the wings.
Stay Safe, till the weather improves!
Meanwhile, write the Governor, and ask him to sign the Police Reform Bill. It may not be all we need, but it is a good first step, and it is in hand. So please write!

"Stand Out Against Racism" Sunday, Nov 29, 10 am-noon!
Submitted by ruth on Fri, 11/27/2020 - 7:38pmNeighbors and Friends,
We invite you to join us at Porter Square - Sunday, Nov 29, 10 am - 12 noon!
Hopefully, we have all had a safe Thanksgiving with, most of all, a chance to see and hug (if only virtually) our loved ones.
Most of us have much to be thankful for, although this has been a very tough year. There are, however, far too many families across this country crying for a member lost to police violence. Still, we cannot, even here in MA, get a police reform bill out of Beacon Hill.
