For this month’s meeting, on Thursday, February 21, we have been working with ACN (Association of Cambridge Neighborhoods) to co-sponsor a follow-up discussion of Vacant Retail Storefronts.
Colette debuts tomorrow, located in the Porter Square Hotel (1924 Massachusetts Ave., Porter Square). Sibling to Frenchie across the river — and sharing one owner with Petit Robert as well — Colette will likewise specialize in French cuisine. And also like Frenchie, Colette will feature lush floral wallpaper.
Bulk deliveries have gone to Harvard, Lesley, Agassiz Baldwin, and the Dept of Tourism.
If you don't find one of these at your favorite retailer or restaurant, please let us know.
The map is beautiful, and has been very well received.

PSNA Meeting on TREES!

Porter Square has been identified as one of the city’s heat islands. Mass Ave—a main thoroughfare for cars, buses, bikes, and pedestrians—is an increasingly hot corridor. Street trees help reduce that heat! Many of us share the vision of a shady Mass Ave and are interested in doing what we can to improve our tree canopy and our planet.
At our September 20th meeting Owen O'Riordian, Commissioner, DPW and Melissa Miguel, DPW, Senior Engineer working with MBTA and Somerville (on the project described below) will join us to talk about the issues, condition and maintenance of the plazas near the Porter Square T stop and the city sidewalks in the area.
Many of you will remember that we just did a "Clean Up Porter Square and Mass Ave" covering some of this area, and we can briefly update you on that.
