At 7:00 pm - We will open with a brief introduction from Katherine Shozawa, Director of Community Engagement at Lesley Art & Design, to tell us about the talk about the “Mass Ave Art Walk" where the graduating BFA students will be showing their work in Mass Ave business' windows. Help support them! At 7:30 pm - We will be joined by Theodora Skeadas, Executive Director of Cambridge Local First and members of Cambridge Bicycle Safety and business owners on Mass Ave. We will be discussing the recently released (April 30) Mass Ave impact study which looks at the feasibility of installing flex post bike lanes along Mass Ave. If followed, it would remove virtually all parking and loading zones from along Mass Ave from Harvard Sq to Dudley St.  Cambridge Bike Safety says they do not support the "plan" described in it. They say it is not the case that the ordinance requires flexpost bike lanes on all of North Mass Ave. It requires either quickbuild protected bike lanes (e.g., with flexposts) or bike lanes installed through a capital project (e.g., like those on Western Ave) or some combination of the two, on a context specific basis.  The Traffic Dept says it is not really "a plan" and they will not comment on it until the City Council convenes and reviews it. We invited both of them. Currently, Mass Ave is a disaster, clogged with cars, trucks, buses, bicycles, and pedestrians.  All of us want it to be safe for when we are engaged in any of those modes. It can certainly be improved to work better (and look better) for all of us. What exactly is required to follow the Cycling Safety Ordinance passed by the City Council I do not know, but we ALL need to figure that out, with the City's help.  We will meet Thursday to start the discussion of what we all want/need from this "Our Main Street" and begin to understand where agreement may be found. We hope the City will be listening.                            *********************************Topic: PSNA May 20, 7-9 pm Meeting - Bike Lanes on Mass Ave, 7:00 – 9:00 PM Join Zoom Meetinghttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/88557985774?pwd=UkxVVmROSGxFVW9MQitsTlE2dm5CUT...
