PSNA meeting tonight with MassAveforAll

PSNA Meeting Thursday, March 17th Virtually. Bring your green (or otherwise) beer!

Hello neighbors!

Thursday, March 17th, 7-9 pm, we will talk about what else--safe bike lane construction, through and near Porter Square on Mass Ave.

We have now heard from the city about their plans for a Quick Build through the square.

This PSNA meeting is meant to make sure we all understand the sections of Mass Ave and the timelines in question. It is confusing.

We will try to listen to and address the concerns of all of the stakeholders, AND the physical facts of the Avenue, it's width, its character at various points, the issues involved in pulling up the median to gain extra room, the give and take that should be required to retain the character of our neighborhoods and keep our local businesses and allow bicycle commuters and enthusiasts to travel safely.

The MassAveforAll working group is made up of members of Cambridge Bike Safety, local business owners, a representative from Livablestreets, local residents, as well as a representative of PSNA.

We have also asked Councillor Paul Toner to join us as he has been working on these same issues.

It is not our intent to argue, or pit one group against another. We may not all agree, but we can all be considerate and thoughtful.

This is our Avenue, our neighborhood. Let's make sure we are knowledgeable, think deeply, and tell our elected officials as well as our city officials what we need to maintain and what we need to change.
